Mary Henderson

Mary Henderson, 94, passed away Saturday, (July 31, 2021) at Heritage Health in Streator.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday at Solon-Telford Funeral Home, with Reverend Anne Ferguson, officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 AM Wednesday at Solon-Telford Funeral Home. Burial will at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mary was born on September 19, 1926 in Sedalia, Missouri, the daughter of Frank and Hazel Schmitz. She married Maurice Henderson on April 26, 1946 in Lostant, Illinois. He survives. Earlier this year they celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary at Heritage Health in Streator.

Mary’s favorite job was being a mother and then a grandmother. She operated a beauty shop in her home for 28 years. We will miss her smile and love.

She is survived by her husband, Maurice Henderson of Streator; one daughter, Patricia Henderson of Streator; son, Robert (Mary) Henderson of Pekin; son, Terry (Kay) Henderson of Geneseo; son, Michael M. (Marcia) of Las Vegas, Nevada; a brother John Schmitz; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Scott, and two brothers and two sisters.

Pallbearers will be Michael J. Henderson, Ryan Henderson, Daniel Henderson, Zachary Henderson, David Reed, Kevin Reed, and honorary pallbearers, Robbie Henderson and Trey Stillwell.

Memorials may be made to the Elks Crippled Children’s Fund.
