Mary Ann Woodward, 81, of Streator passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 7th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M.-11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 7th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Born December 20, 1941 in Streator she was the daughter of Thomas G. and Anna (Lesak) Harcar Jr.
She is survived by a daughter in law, Kjersten Woodward of Normal; a grandson, Johnathan Woodward of Normal; a brother, James Harcar of Streator; a brother in law, Oral Higdon of Streator; several nieces, nephews and godchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, James Woodward; sisters, Ann Beckom, Agnes Hornick and Frances Higdon; brothers, Thomas Jr., Joseph, Michael, William and Andrew Harcar; and sisters in law, Rose Harcar and Maria Harcar.
Born and raised in Streator she attended St. Stephen’s Grade School and graduated from Streator High School in the class of 1966. She later attended Illinois Valley Community College.
Through the years she worked at the University of Chicago Hospital, Mental Health Center of LaSalle County and Ottawa General Hospital. She later worked for St. Mary’s Hospital in medical services from 1979-2009.
She was a longtime and active member of the former St. Stephen’s Church and the Altar and Rosary Society of her church. She was also active with the Lady Baker’s (Holy Rollers) group that baked traditional Rozak to support the church.
Mary Ann’s wishes were that memorial donations in lieu of flowers be directed to the college fund for her grandson Johnathan
