Mary Ann Horaney, 89, of Streator passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at the ARC of Streator.

  Private family services will be held.  The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

  Born March 5, 1936 in Streator she was the daughter of George and Ann (Gulvas) Kosley.  She married Edward “Bud” Horaney on August 7, 1954.  He preceded her in death on December 17, 2001.

  She is survived by a daughter, Mary Jo (Mike) Starks of Streator; sons, Gary (Diane) Horaney of Streator and David Horaney of Texas; grandchildren, Stacy Starjack of Streator, Noah (Lindsay) Horaney of Streator, Celeste McGrogan and Zach McGrogan; 6 great grandchildren; and sisters, Georgene Snider of Joliet and Marcy Lurz of Streator.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson, Joseph Starks; and a sister, Barbara Graves.

  Born and raised in Streator she attended St. Stephen’s Grade School and graduated from Streator High School.

  She worked for over 30 years as an EKG Technician for St. Mary’s Hospital until her retirement.

  She was an active member of the former St. Stephen’s Church.  She was part of the Lady Baker’s group at the church and also led the rosary for many years before Mass.
