Mary Anne McGowan, 91, of Naperville and formerly of Streator passed away Friday, May 17, 2024 at Meadowbrook Manor of Naperville.

  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, May 21st at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. 

  Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 21st at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Streator. 

  Born April 16, 1933 in Streator she was the daughter of Paul and Josephine (Stablum) Pesenti.  She married Francis J. McGowan on September 4, 1954 at Sacred Heart Church in Rutland, Illinois. He preceded her in death on November 30, 2005.

  She is survived by sons, Daniel (Marcia) McGowan of Stillwater, Minnesota and Mark McGowan of Henderson, Texas; a daughter, Molly (Dan) Ruszkowski of Villa Park; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a brother, Paul (Sharon) Pesenti, Jr. of New York.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Michelle Morgan; and a sister, Louise Pesenti.

  Mary Anne was raised in Toluca and attended St. Anne’s Grade School and graduated from Toluca High School in 1951.

  She worked as a bookkeeper through the years for M & M Grain Elevator in Seneca and Marseilles and Bliss Plumbing and Heating in Streator.

  She was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church and St. Joseph’s in Marseilles.  She was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of her church, the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and Home Extension.

  A loving wife, mother and grandmother Mary Anne lived in Toluca, Streator, Blackstone and Marseilles areas through the years.  She spent the last years of her life living in the Oak Brook and Naperville area to be closer to family.  She will be dearly missed by her friends and loving family who were blessed by having known her.

  Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
