Michele A. Tutko

  Michele A. Tutko, 76, of Streator passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at O.S.F. St. Anthony’s Medical Center in Rockford.

  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church, Streator.  Fr. Ignacio Cardenas will officiate.

  Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Streator.  Pat Hart, Mike Hart, Robert Miller, Jim Bock, Jim Tutko and Mike Sokol will serve as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Nolan Tutko and Dan Stash.

  Born March 19, 1948 in Streator she was the daughter of Edward and Grace (Miller) Hart.  She married James “Jim” Tutko on December 16, 1977 in Ottawa.  He preceded her in death.

  She is survived by a daughter, Jennifer (Jim) Bock of Streator; a son, Jason (Susan) Tutko of Streator; stepchildren, Cathy (Ron) Schmitt of Streator, Jim (Ashley) Tutko of Streator; grandchildren, Presley and Nolan Tutko. 

  She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jim.

  Born and raised in Streator she attended St. Mary’s Grade School and graduated from Streator High School, class of 1966.

  Over the years, Michele worked at Thatcher’s Glass, Libby Kristal and Finkelstein Eye Associates until she retired in 2023 to be a full time Grandma.  She was a member of the former V.F.W. Post # 1492 Women’s Auxiliary and the Streator Women’s Bowling League.  She was a former member of Immaculate Conception Church and a current member of St. Michael the Archangel Church.

  Michele was an avid animal lover and enjoyed shopping, yard work, and landscaping.  She loved spending time with family and really enjoyed babysitting her grandson, Nolan.  He brought her so much happiness and love in the short time they were together.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
