Norma J. Crouch-Risley, 95, of Streator passed away Saturday, May 24, 2025 in Streator.

  There will be no funeral services.  Cremation rites will be accorded.  Burial of ashes will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Streator.  The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

  Born October 19, 1929 in Ottawa she was the daughter of Joseph and Delia (Brooke) Thew.  She married William S. Crouch in December of 1949.  He preceded her in death in 1971.  She later married Donald Risley in April of 1978.  He preceded her in death in 1995.

  She is survived by daughters, Christine (Matt) Heintz of Sterling, Alaska, Cathy (Dan) Sullivan of Streator, Carolyn Flahaven of Tavares, Florida and Jean (Stan) Mroczek of Streator; a son, William “Buddy” (Peggy) Crouch Jr., of Streator; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren also survive.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a step-father, Chester Salvati; a brother, Melvin Thew; a sister, Bernadine Thew; grandchildren, Raleigh Crouch and David Riss; and two great grandchildren in infancy.

  Norma attended Streator schools and graduated from Streator High School in the class of 1947.

  She worked through the years at local Doctor’s offices and St. Mary’s Hospital.  She later worked for Heritage Manor Nursing Home from where she retired.

  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

  Norma was an independent person who lived on her own for many years.  She was proud of her independence and enjoyed doing her own lawn work on her John Deere tractor and taking care of her home.  She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed her life very much.  She loved her family and friends and will be dearly missed.
