Orville W. Cave Orville W. Cave, 67, of Tucson and formerly of Streator passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012 in Tucson.
Memorial services were held in Tucson. Military burial at sea will be conducted at a later date. The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
Orville was born September 12, 1944 in Streator to Emmett Sr. and Catherine (Mertes) Cave.
He is survived by his five children, Arthur, Cindy, Wendy, Tamala and Orville II; seven grandchildren; sisters, Rosalie Shanklin, Dolores Christ and Peggy Marshall; brothers, Emmet Cave Jr., Virgil Cave and George Cave.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Virginia Ondrey and Shirley in infancy; and brothers, John "Hank" Cave and Ronald Cave.
Born and raised in Streator he attended Cornell Grade School and Streator High School class of 1962. After graduation he enlisted in the military and has lived all over the country. He has resided in the Tucson area for over 25 years.
Orville served his country in the US Navy and Air Force, retiring after 22 ½ years. He later worked for the Tucson School system in the maintenance department.
Orville was an active member of the Masons and the Shriners. He was a workaholic, yet always had the time for his many hobbies including rebuilding and collecting classic cars, hot rods and guns.
Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
