Patricia Mueller Obituary

Patricia Ann Mueller, 92, of Streator passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care, Streator.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 P.M. Tuesday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 11:30 A.M. until 1:30 P.M. Tuesday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Streator.

Born November 9, 1928 in Streator she was the daughter of Philip and Bertha (Massey) Woll. The Jesse Massey family was one of the early pioneer families in Streator.

Pat married Leo E. Mueller Jr. on August 29, 1946 at Immaculate Conception Church, Streator by the late Fr. J.J. Cosgrove. Leo preceded her in death on June 5, 2019.

Pat was a life member of the former Immaculate Conception Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church. She attended St. Mary’s Grade School and graduated from Streator High School.

She began working at Woolworth’s at the age of 14, the first year of WW II. She later worked for Hills Bros., Goslin’s and Kristal’s Dress Shop.

As the years passed, Pat and Leo became parents of 10 children, Leo (Linda) Mueller of Sheffield, IL, Kathleen (Ronald deceased) Ward of Streator, Jerrilynn Kallas of Streator, Philip (Debbie) Mueller of Arizona, Daniel (Deborah) Mueller of Streator, Mary Ellen (Peter) Getchell Alexander of Michigan, Patrick (Evilin) Mueller of Streator, Edward (Teri) Mueller of Arizona, Christian (Janet) of Wisconsin and Michael Mueller of Streator.

As her children grew, she once again began to work outside the home. She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital for 8 years on the Medical/Surgery floor and always said those were wonderful years. Our mother was a born caregiver.

Pat’s mom (Grandma Woll) passed on the love of reading and traveling. She loved the Harry Potter series but especially her Westerns. Louis L’Amour was her favorite author.

In their travels, their “hi-de-ho", as they would refer to it, was Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Jackson Lake was a favorite spot for their boating and fishing excursions. Many family members and friends joined them over the 30 plus years at Jackson Hole. They also enjoyed their trips to Europe, visiting all 11 countries while the Berlin Wall was still dividing Germany. They also traveled to London and Italy on two shorter trips.

Pat also loved music and was a great dancer. She was in many clubs throughout the years. Her favorite club of 35 years was her craft club that she shared with her older friends. She also enjoyed Bridge and Solitaire.

Pat, our mom, enjoyed life. She had so many friends we could never keep up with them. Mom always said that she wanted to live long enough to see her great-grandchildren and to vote one more time.

She had 24 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She is the last of her immediate family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; granddaughter Christina M. Kallas; grandson, Ted Kallas; her twin sisters in infancy; brother Phil and his wife Vera and their children, Teresa and Philip “Buster” Jr; sisters and brothers-in-law, Evelyn and Frank Coveny and Kathleen and Vincent Halm; sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Wayne Ohligschlager; sister-in-law, Adrienne Flynn; and sons-in-law, Ron Ward and John Getchell.

We will miss you mom! She has always looked forward to seeing her Mom and Dad again and this gives us great comfort.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Hospital for children.
