Raymond R. Miller, Jr., 82, of Streator passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at his residence in Streator.
There will be no funeral services. Cremation rites will be accorded. Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery at a later date.
Born December 15, 1939 in Streator he was the son of Raymond and Mary (Yacko) Miller. He married Barbara L. Handzus on October 27, 1962. They recently celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Miller of Streator; sons, Kevin (Dawn) Miller of DeSoto, Missouri and Ron (Marta) Miller of Streator; grandchildren, Katelyn Miller, Cassandra Logsdon, Christina Miller, Steven Miller, Megan (Jeff) Bradley, Ryan (Kylie Taylor) Glowicki and Jackie (Justin Crow) Leonard; great grandchildren, Liam Miller, Alexis Logsdon and Jason Crow; sisters, Mary Lee Jackson of Streator, Judy (Kenneth) Khort of Minnesota, Donna (Gary) Garretson of Florida and Debbie (Richard) Kress of Georgia; a brother, Jerry (Peg) Miller of Streator; a son in law, Rodney (Sue) Leonard of Streator; many nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Lori Leonard; a sister, Sharon Miller; a brother, Robert Miller; a brother in law, Kenneth Jackson; and a great granddaughter, Addie Glowicki.
Born and raised in Streator he graduated from Woodland High School. Following High School Ray served in the United States Navy.
He worked for many years for Owens Illinois Glass Company retiring when he was 55.
Ray and his wife Barb enjoyed many years camping and vacationing at East Fork Lake in Olney. Olney was a home away from home for them as they spent many summers with their children and grandchildren at the campground. He loved fishing and golfing through the years. He also loved throwing bags, jarts and horseshoes. Family was very important to Ray and he loved taking his grandkids fishing, boating, swimming and on golf cart rides. He will be dearly missed by his loving family.
