Richard L. “Dick” Sharisky, 81, of Streator passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024 at O.S.F. St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.

  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 5th at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator.

  Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. Tuesday, June 4th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.  The rosary will be recited at 6:45 P.M.

  Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator.  Pallbearers will be Mark Harcar, Jimmy Harcar, Alex Harcar, Lucas Sharisky, Cooper Sharisky, Tyler Winkels, Blake Angelico and Joe Berg, 

  Born June 11, 1942 in Streator he was the son of George and Mary (Szramek) Sharisky.  He married Eleanor “Dolly” Guyon on August 17, 1963. 

  He is survived by his wife, Eleanor “Dolly” Sharisky of Streator; sons, Richard “Rick” Sharisky, Jr. of Streator and Cory Sharisky of Streator; grandchildren, Mark (Katie) Harcar of Streator, Jimmy (Alexis Simons) Harcar of Streator, Jolyn (Joe Berg) Harcar of Streator, Brooke (Tyler) Winkels of Streator, Morgan (Blake) Angelico of Mt. Vernon, Lakin Sharisky of Ottawa, Emilee (Lane Elmore) Sharisky of Streator, Lucas Sharisky of Streator, Cooper Sharisky of Streator and Ella Sharisky of Streator; 10 great grandchildren; a sister, Kristie (Mel) Murray of Streator; a brother, George (Karen) Sharisky of Streator; many nieces and nephews also survive.

  He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jason Sharisky; sisters, Barbara Trenor and Shirley (Robert) Sphar; and a granddaughter in infancy, Karie Sharisky.

  Born and raised in Streator he attended St. Stephen’s Grade School and Streator High School.

  He worked as a Machine Operator for Thatcher’s Glass for over 30 years and later worked for Owens Illinois for 10 years.  In his retirement he worked for several years for John and Joe’s Florist.

  Dick was a member of the former St. Stephen’s Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church.  He loved classic vehicles and was a member of the Dream Machines Car Club.  He loved sports, especially the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Blackhawks and Illinois Basketball.
