Robert A. Happold, 57, of Streator passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026 at O.S.F. St. Elizabeth – Peru Campus.

  Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. Monday, January 19th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Monday, January 19th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  Burial will be in St. Casimir’s Cemetery, Streator.  Cremation rites have been accorded.

  Born December 30, 1968 in Streator he was the son of Robert L. and Joanne (Potasky) Happold.  He married Julie Elliott on April 20, 1996. 

  He is survived by his former wife, Julie Happold of Streator; a son, Matthew Happold of Streator; sisters, Charlene Solon of Daytona Beach, Florida and Darlene Happold of Streator; aunts, Pat Koukas of Channahon, Connie Halbleib of McNabb and Eleanor Mecagni of Peru; an uncle, Jerry (Frances) Happold of DePue; many cousins also survive.

  He was preceded in death by his parents; paternal grandparents, Adolph and Doris Happold; maternal grandparents, John and Mary Potasky; and an aunt, Mary Beth Potasky.

  Born and raised in Streator he attended local grade schools and graduated from Streator High School in the class of 1987.

  He was a cook through the years at various restaurants around town.  He later worked for Bill Walsh in the Parts Department and as a custodian for Central Church of Christ.

  He was of the Catholic faith and attended Central Church of Christ through the years.

  Rob was an outdoorsman and was a past member of the Sandy Ford Sportsman’s Club where he enjoyed fishing.  He was also a past member of the Cranker’s Bass Club.  He was an avid Chicago White Sox fan and enjoyed collecting baseball cards.  He will be dearly missed by his loving family.
