Obituary

Robert J. Seaman 95 of Streator died Sunday evening (August 8, 2021) at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM Friday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator with Farther Austin Bosse, officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 AM Friday at St. Michael the Archangel Church. Burial with full military rites conducted by members of American Legion Post # 217 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 1492 will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery. The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Seaman was born January 31, 1926 in Streator, the son of Thomas and Margaret (Kutcha) Seaman. He married Elizabeth “Betty” Lutz, May 1, 1954 in Wenona. She survives.

Bob owned and operated Seaman Construction in the Streator area for many years prior to retirement. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 1492 and the Elks Lodge. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy.

He is survived by his wife Betty; two sons, William (Linda) Seaman of Streator and Gerald (Kim) Seaman of Streator; grandchildren Brian, Tim, and Patrick Seaman and Elizabeth Harms; and great-grandchildren Autumn, Keiri Seaman and Ivy Harms.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dorothy Frandsen.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Brian, Tim, and Patrick Seaman; granddaughter Elizabeth Harms and Harold Herzog and Tom Wisler.

Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
