Robert H. Sproule Obituary

    Robert H. Sproule, 82, of Streator passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at his residence in Streator.


    Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Monday, September 8th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.


  Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 8th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.


  Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Streator.  Pallbearers will be, Daniel Bell, Joe Harlan, Jeff Harlan, Colin Heider, Gage Hart and Chris Elias.  Full military rites will be accorded by members of the Leslie G. Woods American Legion Post 217, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1492 and the Long Point American Legion Post 1217.


  Born January 19, 1943 in Streator he was the son of Raymond and Rose (Sagi) Sproule.  He married Dawn Leslie on March 17, 2005. 


  He is survived by his wife, Dawn Sproule of Streator; sons, Daniel (Jamie) Bell of Beecher City, Ethan Bell of Teutopolis, Joseph (Tia) Harlan of Streator, Jeff (Allie Harris) Harlan of Streator, Michael (Krystle) Harlan of Streator, Todd (Jen Currier) Sproule of Streator and Tim (Tricia) Sproule of Algonquin; 16 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Sproule of Arizona and Phyllis Wahl of Florida; a brother, Raymond “Bud” Sproule of Colorado and his beloved dogs, Bobbie and Lady.


  He was preceded in death by parents; his daughter, Terri Durdan; and his good friend, Art Riblet.


  Born and raised in Streator he attended Streator grade schools and graduated from Streator High School.  


  He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.


  He worked through the years for Milam and Sproule Trucking and later for US Foodservice as a truck driver.  He retired from US Foodservice in 2005.


  He was a member of the Leslie G. Woods American Legion Post 217, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1492 and the Streator Eagle’s Club. 


  He was an avid golfer and enjoyed guns and motorcycles.  He also enjoyed fishing and the yearly fishing trips to Wisconsin with his family and close friend, Chris Elias.  He will be dearly missed by his loving family.


  Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
