Rodney D. Robinson

Rodney D. Robinson Sr., 66, of Streator passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at O.S.F. St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 P.M. Friday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

Cremation rites have been accorded and private burial will be held at a later date in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.

Born December 2, 1954 in Pittsfield he was the son of Harlen and Shelby (Coultas) Robinson. He married Linda M. Randles on December 2, 2008. She preceded him in death November 29, 2018.

He is survived by sons, Rodney Robinson II of Streator and William (Nicole) Robinson of Streator; a daughter, Bambi (Robert) Hall of Cookeville, Tennessee; his mother, Shelby Robinson of Romeoville; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Kimberly Schmitt of Romeoville and Janice Robinson of Romeoville; brothers, Wayne (Della) Robinson of Joliet, Brett Robinson of Frankfort and Adam Robinson of Frankfort; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his father and his wife.

Rodney was raised in the Joliet/Plainfield area and attended Plainfield grade schools and Plainfield High School.

He served in the United States Marine Corps during Viet Nam. He later served in the United States Army National Guard.

He worked through the years for A & R Security and Pyramid Cabinets.

He was a member of the American Legion.
