Rolene L. Jenkins, 86, of Streator passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at O.S.F. St. James Medical Center in Pontiac.

  Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 24th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.  Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 24th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

   Burial will be in Long Point Cemetery, Long Point, Illinois.  Pallbearers will be Dylan Jenkins, David Jenkins, Matt Orr, Brandon Grant, Gregory Grant, and Brian Grant.

  Born on November 4, 1937 in Peru IL, she was the daughter of Robert and Berneice (Peters) Meuser. She was baptized and confirmed at St John’s Lutheran Church in Peru IL and graduated in 1955 from LaSalle Peru High School. She married Ronald H. Jenkins on February 17, 1968. He survives in Streator. She is also survived by her children Gregory Grant of Hennepin; Brian (Patty) Grant of Pontiac, Laurie (Matt) Orr of Manville; and David (Amy) Jenkins of Streator; six grandchildren Brandon (Ty) Grant, Michelle (Rich) Sablick, Sarah Thomas, Braxton Grant, Brayton Grant, Audrey Jenkins, and Dylan Jenkins; nine great-grandchildren; and sister Linda (John) Dzik of Massachusetts.

  She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Meuser Jr., and her dog Pugsley.

  She was a housewife and helped on the farm when she could; mowing, gardening, canning, pie-making, and was most known for her chocolate chip cookies; she truly loved life on the farm. She also enjoyed feeding and watching the birds; especially cardinals. She loved entertaining family and friends for holiday parties, playing cards and board games, and most of all her grandchildren!  She most recently enjoyed playing Bingo and visiting with her new family at the Streator Holly Brook Assisted Living. She was a member of Cornell Community Lutheran Church, where she had taught Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, helped with quilt making, and was a member of the Ladies Circle. She was a former member of the Long Point Home Extension, Lindy Club, & Country Card Club of Cornell.

  Memorials may be directed to the Cornell Community Lutheran Church, Woodland School Green House, Livingston County Humane Society, or donor’s choice.  The family would like to extend our appreciation to the Staff of St James Medical Center of Pontiac and Streator Hollybrook Assisted Living.
