Ruth I. Pieper, 72, of Streator passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care in Streator.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 20th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. Rev. Rodney Kreier will officiate.
Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 20th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Burial will be in Southside Cemetery in Pontiac. Pallbearers will be Ron Dankenbring, Charlie Gebhardt, Bruce Willis, Derek Washington, Tim Shelton, and Troy Shelton.
Born June 17, 1950 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of Harry and Frieda (Schmal) Turville. She married John “Jim” Pieper on November 30, 1991 in Arizona.
She is survived by her husband, John “Jim” Pieper of Streator; a son, Jeffrey (Kelly) Brennan of Scottsdale, Arizona; a step-daughter, Kimberly (Ronald) Dankenbring of Streator; a step-son, John “Jack” Pieper of Mesa, Arizona; grandchildren, Emma and Grace Brennan of Scottsdale, Arizona; several nieces and nephews and her beloved cat Snowball also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary Scharf and Carol Schultz and a brother in infancy, Kenneth Turville.
Born and raised in Wisconsin, she moved to Arizona in 1973 where she was a grade school Art teacher in Fountain Hills, Arizona for 34 years. She also was the owner and operator of Ruthie’s Collectibles, an antique business located in an Antique Mall in Mesa, Arizona. She loved traveling and had traveled most of the United States. She looked forward to going to garage sales and auctions to find the next great hidden gem. She also enjoyed painting, bingo, family gatherings and fish fries. Ruth was a very kind person that never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Heritage Health Activity Fund.
