Sandra L. Jaynes Wade

  Sandra L. Jaynes Wade 73, of Streator IL, passed away surrounded by family, April 9, 2023.   

  Funeral services will be at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, April 22nd at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. 

  Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Saturday, April 22nd at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.

  Sandra was born Aug 31, 1949, to the late Homer and Lorraine Jaynes. She was married to the late Robert L. Wade also of Streator, for thirteen years and that union produced five children.    

  Sandy, as she was affectionately referred to, left a loving legacy.  She never met a stranger, and her charming smile, graceful spirit and hospitality were known throughout the community.

  She worked for the State of Illinois for forty years until her retirement in 2017, as a Senior Adjudicator for LaSalle County unemployment compensation claims. Sandy was renowned for her judicious handling of unemployment cases, which made her a popular and highly respected public servant. After Sandy retired, she spent more time enjoying her hobbies. As an avid “I Love Lucy” fan, she collected everything and anything with that trademark. In addition, she loved fishing, playing cards, shopping and spending time with family and friends.

  She was preceded in death by three children, Gayle Wade, Kandis Wade and Robert L. Wade II.

  She is survived by two children, David L. Wade of Dearborn Heights, Michigan and Rhonda (Joe) Saucillo of Kissimmee, Florida; eleven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; siblings, Dr. Gerald (Pat Hall) Jaynes of New Haven, Connecticut, Carl Jaynes of New York, New York, Dale Jaynes of Worcester, Massachusetts, Gayle Jaynes Harding of Memphis, Tennessee and Susan Jaynes of Memphis, Tennessee; step sisters, Demetrius Scott of Minnesota and Yvonne Daum of Streator; also surviving are nieces, nephews and many loving cousins and friends.

  Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
