Sara A. Hrasch, 84, of Streator passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025 at the ARC of Streator.

  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 25th at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator.

  Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. Monday, March 24th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.  The rosary will be recited at 6:45 P.M.

  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Streator.  Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Tyler Seymour and Evan Hrasch; and nephews, Jon Horaney, Mike “Emmett” Horaney, Brad Zack and Brian Zack.

  Born June 12, 1940 in Streator she was the daughter of Arthur and Beatrice (Dempsey) Zack.  She married Stephen M. Hrasch on October 23, 1965 at Immaculate Conception Church.

  She is survived by her husband, Stephen Hrasch of Streator; a daughter, Sheila Holland of Metamora; a son, Stephen Hrasch of Streator; grandchildren, Tyler Seymour and Evan Hrasch; sister in law, Florence Horaney; in laws, Albert and Bobbie Hrasch; former daughter in law, Carrie Topolski-Hrasch of Streator; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

  She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers and sisters in law, Emmett Horaney, Jack and Betty Zack and Robert and Betty Zack.

  Born and raised in Streator she attended St. Mary’s Grade School and graduated from Streator High School in the class of 1958.  She later received training to become an L.P.N.

  She worked as a Licensed Practicing Nurse for St. Mary’s Hospital her entire career until retirement.

  She was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church.  She also served as a Eucharistic Minister and visited and provided comfort to patients at St. Mary’s Hospital.

  Sara enjoyed traveling with her husband and going to the theatre.  She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and participated in local bowling leagues throughout the years.

  A loving wife, mother and grandmother Sara meant so much to so many.  She will be dearly missed.
