Sarah Phelps Obituary

Sarah J. Phelps 80 of Streator passed away Saturday, October 7, 2023 at ARC of Streator.

Private graveside services will be held. The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Phelps was born April 4, 1943 in Streator the daughter of Thomas and Mary Isabelle (Adams) Blakemore. She married Donald “Larry” Phelps November 26, 1967 at the First United Methodist Church, Streator. He preceded her in death August 21, 2023.

Sarah was a member of First United Methodist Church, Streator and was also an avid quilter, knitter and seamstress.

She is survived by one daughter, Karen (Devon) Weldy, Wakarusa, Indiana, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, two sisters, Barbara Tomasko and Mary Ann McClenning and a daughter-in-law, Sherry Phelps all of Streator.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Thomas Phelps.

Memorials may be directed to charity of the donor’s choice.
