Shirley M. Tutoky, 92, of Streator passed away Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Pavilion of Ottawa.

  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 P.M. Friday, January 31st at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. 

  Visitation will be from 9:30 -11:30 A.M. Friday, January 31st at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.  The rosary will be recited at 9:15 A.M.

  Burial will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Streator.  Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

  Born March 31, 1932 in Streator she was the daughter of Henry and Josephine (Gass) Melchers.  She married Richard G. Tutoky on April 19, 1958.  He preceded her in death on March 17, 2009.

  She is survived by her children, Stan (Kathy M.) Tutoky of Streator. Kathleen Tutoky of Streator, Barbara (Stewart) Fairall of Streator, Linda (Andre) Nitkowski of Fond du lac, Wisconsin and Richard M. (Kim) Tutoky of Streator; grandchildren, Earl Fairall, Steven Tutoky, Anna Elzer-Madera, Christopher Fairall, Josephine Havens, Sara Schmeiser, Angela Elzer-Stanford, Andrew Elzer, Makala Nitkowski, Alec Nitkowski, Richard Henry “Hank” Tutoky, Owen Nitkowski and Mary Karen Tutoky; 7 great grandchildren and one on the way; step-grandchildren, Joseph Kudrick, Sarah Kudrick-Wargo, Kayla Kudrick-Widmer and Kristin Kudrick-King; 5 step-great grandchildren. 

  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Catherine Michlik; and brothers, Harold Lahman and Henry Melchers.

  Born and raised in Streator she attended Streator Grade Schools and graduated from Streator High School in the class of 1950.  She lived in Streator her lifetime.

  She worked through the years for Lipton Tea Company, Owens Illinois Glass and later drove a Bus for Ryder Bus Company for 10 years.

  She was a member of the former St. Stephen’s Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church.  She was also a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.

  A loving wife, mother and grandmother Shirley enjoyed baking, canning and tending to her flowers.  She will be dearly missed by her loving family.
