Tanya M. Elliott, 83, of Streator passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at O.S.F. St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 10th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. Monday, January 9th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. The rosary will be recited at 6:45 P.M.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Streator. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Born October 21, 1939 in Streator, she was the daughter of Walter and Elizabeth (Burzawa) Nycz. She married Dale Elliott Sr. on February 19, 1957 at St. Anthony Church, Streator.
She is survived by her husband Dale Elliott Sr. of Streator; a daughter, Lisa (Michael) Elias of Clinton Township, Mich.; sons Jeff (Mary) Elliott, of Streator, David (Vicky) Elliott, of Algonquin, Ill., and Stephen (Stacy) Elliott of Rock Island, Ill.; 7 grandchildren, Jessica Elliott, William (Pamela) Elias, Rachael (Ryan) Koehler, Elizabeth Elias, Ashley (Nathan) Simpson, David (Jordan) Elliott Jr., and Carly (Justin) Morris; 13 great grandchildren, Jaden, Jessa, Josephine, Benjamin, Charles, Emmeline, Brody, Penelope, Oliver, Caroline, Sawyer, Addison, and Ryan; and one brother, Greg (Mary Ann) Nycz of Gallatin, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dale Elliott Jr.; a granddaughter, Megan Elliott and a brother, Richard Nycz.
Born and raised in Streator, she attended Streator Grade Schools, Streator High School and Illinois Valley Community College. Tanya enjoyed reading, writing and poetry as well as gardening and painting. She devoted her life to family and was a central figure in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Tanya had a kind heart and an endless capacity to love others, particularly children. Her family will miss her independent spirit, sense of humor and caring presence.
She was a member of the former St. Anthony Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be directed to St. Michael the Archangel School.
