Theresa L. Redfern

Theresa L. Redfern, 96, of Streator passed away Monday, December 14, 2020 at Pleasant View Lutheran Home, Ottawa.

Funeral services will be private. The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of the services.

Burial will be in Ancona Cemetery, Ancona.

Born July 24, 1924 in Cornell she was the daughter of Milo and Carrie (Davis) Garretson. She married Raymond E. Redfern on January 31, 1945. He preceded her in death on December 18, 2005.

She is survived by her children, Mary Ann Butz of Ashland, Oregon, Nancy (Larry) Schell of Streator, Kenneth (Rebecca) Redfern of Reading and Diana (Mark) Pshak of Longs, South Carolina; grandchildren, Trever (Kristy Rients) North of Hudson, Jenna (Tony) Alwood of Hanna City, Carrie Redfern of Ashland, Oregon, Christina (Quintin Bunche) Butz of Sherman Oaks, California, Shilo (Brian) Schaffer of Charlotte, North Carolina and Kiel (Nicole) Pshak of Pontiac; great grandchildren, Taeli Baughman, Jamison and Hayden Schaffer; Lawson Alwan, Lyra Redfern, Jase Pshak, Avery Pshak and Ever Bunche; 2 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a great grandchild, Dexton North; a son in law, Paul V. Butz; and siblings, Esther Sorenberger, Earl Garretson, Harold Garretson, Maxine Johnson, Loretta Bunting, Robert Garretson, Leora Garretson, Betty Brill, Charles Garretson, Darrell Garretson and Mary Sue Wonders.

Born and raised in Cornell area she attended Cornell schools until her sophomore year in high school when her family moved to the Long Point area. She graduated from Long Point High School in the class of 1942.

She was a member of the Primitive Methodist Church.

Theresa was a homemaker through the years and assisted her husband on the family farm. She kept a very clean home and people would always say that her home was so clean you could eat off the floor. She will be sadly missed by her loving family.
