Virginia M. French of Streator passed away Thursday, September 19, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her family.

  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. Monday, September 23rd at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator.  Msgr. Philip Halfacre will officiate.

  Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. Monday, September 23rd at the church.

  Private burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Streator. 

  She was the daughter of Ervin and Helen (Seipp) Miller.  She married Curtis French on October 28, 1949.  He preceded her in death on January 7, 2001. 

  She is survived by daughters, Cheri (Dick Essman) French of Streator, Sandy Hasbrouck of Mansfield, Texas, Lynn Kubiak of Cary, North Carolina and Kim (Jim) Rusteberg of Park Ridge; a son, Eric (Andrea) French of Bloomington; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and a sister, Marjorie Killian of Streator.

  She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

  She attended Sts. Peter and Paul Grade School in Leonore and graduated from Streator High School in 1948.

  She worked through the years for Heritage Manor Nursing Home as a Social Services Designate from where she retired in 1995.

  She was a member of the former St. Anthony Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church.  She was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of her church, the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and the St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary. 

  Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
