In loving memory of our mother, Vivian Elenor Spires, who went to be with Our Lord and Savior on December 19th, 2023, in her home in Oglesby surrounded by family.
Vivian was born September 14, 1939, to James and Margaret (McMahon) Spires. She was the devoted and loving mother of six children: Mark (Debbie) Ingold of Plainfield, Scott (Cindy) Ingold of Streator, Chris Ingold of La Salle, Daren (Jodi) Ingold of Streator, Julie Dietman of Peru, and Linda Ingold of Streator. Vivian had 11 grandchildren, 13 great- grandchildren, and one great- great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Gery and James Spires; and a granddaughter, Carly Jo Dietman.
Vivian was born and raised in Toluca and attended St. Ann’s Catholic Grade School and Toluca High School. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Church.
Our mother was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She devoted her life to her daughter Linda right up to the end and always considered the needs of others before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. Our mother was a source of inspiration to us all and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
Growing up, Vivian was always there for us, whether we needed help with our homework or just a shoulder to cry on. She was a woman of strong faith, and she instilled in us the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right. Our mother was a true role model who we will always look up to.
Vivian loved to dance, had a flair for fashion, and make- up. She was always known for her bright red hair and her nails being done. She loved to laugh and joke right till the end.
Mother, you will always be in our hearts, and we will never forget you. We love you so much. Rest in peace.
