Vyetta R. Losey, 93, of Streator passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at a private care home in Streator where she had spent the last several years.

  Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 19th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

  Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. 

  Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Streator.

  Born November 24, 1931 in Streator, she was the daughter of Ivan and Rose (Kelly) Jackson.  She married Ronald Losey on May 26, 1951 at St. Anthony Church, Streator.  He preceded her in death on August 11, 2013. 

  She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Richard) Cross of Venice, Florida; daughter in law, Kathy Losey of Streator; grandchildren, Paul Losey, Felicia Promenschenkel, Adam Losey, Ali Chismarick and Taryn Cross.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sons, Alan Losey and David Losey; and a sister in infancy, Juanita Kelly.

  Vyetta attended St. Anthony Grade School and graduated from Streator High School in the class of 1949.

  She worked for Woodland High School as a Registrar and Secretary for 29 years until her retirement.

  In her retirement she enjoyed traveling with her husband Ron which included a month long stay in Alaska.  They also wintered in Harlingen, Texas for many years.

  Vyetta and Ron were active with the Reading Volunteer Fire Department through the years.  She was very active serving as a volunteer with the Department and also served in the Auxiliary and as an Officer.

  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Reading Volunteer Fire Department, Woodland Education Foundation or the Ancona Christian Church.
