Wayne A. Johnson, 56, of Streator passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at his residence in Streator.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 20th at 1:00 P.M. at Bakke Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 6th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M. Friday, June 5th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Streator.
Born March 1, 1970 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota he was the son of Alfred and Shirley (Cogger) Johnson. He married Rebecca Reum on June 14, 2003.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Johnson of Streator; a son, Douglas (Cassandra Sylvester) Johnson of Mendota; daughters, Amanda (Matthew) Moore of Tonica and Alexis Johnson of Streator; grandchildren, William, Silas and Judah Moore; and one granddaughter on the way; his mother, Shirley Johnson of Callaway, Minnesota; a sister, Sherry (Craig) Teal of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; several nieces, nephews and cousins survive.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Born and raised in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota he attended local grade schools and graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in the class of 1988.
He served in the United States Navy for short time before a medical discharge.
He located to the area in 1990 and worked for over 30 years in various capacities for PCS Phosphate in Marseilles. While at PCS he became certified as a First Responder and met the love of his life, Rebecca.
Wayne was a jack of all trades and could fix anything. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, NASCAR and working on his cars and motorcycles. A loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother he will be dearly missed by his family.
