Willie Mae Jefferson

Willie Mae Jefferson, 74, of Streator passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at O.S.F. St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.

Funeral services will be at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Visitation will be from 4-6 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Cremation rites will be accorded. Private burial will be held at a later time in Riverview Cemetery, Streator.

Born July 7, 1946 in Marks, Mississippi she was the daughter of Willie Jones and Doretha Steward.

She is survived by a son, Marvin (Linda) Jones of Streator; grandchildren, Marlin (Kelly) Washington of Maryland, Shayla Washington of Streator and Alysha Washington of Streator; great grandchildren, Da’Monei, Mikayla and Maddox Washington; a sister, Daisy Vance of Milwaukee; many nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Minnie Hayes, Clara Walker and Grace Bumper; and a son, Gerald “Goldie” Bumper.

She grew up in the Mississippi area and moved to the Streator area in the late 1980’s.

She worked for Livingston Manor Nursing Home in Pontiac for several years.

Willie Mae was a free spirit who loved to laugh and be around family. She will be dearly missed by her loving family.

Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
