Wilson W. “Willie” Copeland II, 24, of Streator passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 14th at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator.
Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. Wednesday, November 13th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. The rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M.
Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be Michael Copeland, Thomas Scarber, Hunter Telford, Max Starkey, Bobby Glenn Jr., Brett Davis and Zack Grabowski. Honorary pallbearers will be Maddie Wachowski, Molli Kmetz, Jenny Barrera, Ceci Cipriano, Millie Dean and Tessa Moore.
Born November 28, 1999 in Streator he was the son of William and Julie (Harcar) Copeland.
He is survived by his parents; a sister, Jacqueline “Jackie” (Tom) Scarber of Marseilles; a brother, Michael (Brooke Bartak) Copeland of Streator; nieces and nephews, Kaylee and Kynzlee Jerde; and Wesley and Remmy Copeland; an aunt, Denise (Robert) Lepore of Streator; uncles, William T. Harcar, Jr. of Streator, Jeffrey (Debbie) Harcar of Streator and Dan (Vonnie) Raber of Hutchison, Kansas; many cousins and friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William T. and Anna Harcar; paternal grandparents, Wilson W. Copeland and Jaqueline Raber; and an uncle, Gary Harcar.
Born and raised in Streator he attended local catholic grade schools and graduated Cum Laude from Streator High School in the class of 2018. He graduated Cum Laude from Illinois Valley Community College in 2021 with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science with certificates in Mechanical/Electrical CAD and Computer Aided Drafting. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology: Applied Manufacturing Technology from Northern Illinois University in 2022.
In high school he worked for Doc’s Gym and later for Grand Ridge Grade School as a part-time custodian. After graduation he worked for Constellation Generation in Dresden as a security guard. He was currently employed by Vactor Manufacturing.
Willie was a fun loving son, brother, uncle and friend to everyone he encountered. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
